The bottle took longer than the formula

Frosted glass, a weighted sphere, and eighteen batches that never left the lab.

Most beauty packaging is decided before the formula is finished, which is why so much of it fights the thing inside it. We went the other way round, and it cost us months.

Frosted, because the pigment is light-sensitive

Clear glass looks better in a photograph and is worse for the product. The frosting is functional first; that it also diffuses the colour of the liquid into something softer is a bonus we did not design for.

Weighted, because you have to want to pick it up

A foundation you enjoy handling is a foundation you actually use. The sphere cap is heavier than it needs to be, and that is the point — it closes with a sound and it does not skitter across a counter.

Twenty-eight millilitres, not thirty

Thirty is the number everyone uses because it is round. Twenty-eight is what fits this bottle at the proportion we wanted, and at two to four drops a day it is still about four months of wear.
